.357 factory loads

.357 finally showed up yesterday.  Anyone have suggestions on factory ammo that you have had good luck with?

Thanks

This may not be specific enough for you, but I have shot many different factory 357 and 38 spl as well as handloads..

All have been satisfactorily accurate out of the Handis I have had.

I've always managed to get 1 to 1.5 groups with iron sights at 50 yds. And one gun and barrel combination, scoped and sighted in at 100 yds was a 1.5" group shooter with most ammo. Chances are with a bit more tinkering with loads, I could have had it shooting 1" or less - but I've mostly just used the 38spls in my barrels for plinking.

I'd say just experiment until you find what works best in your gun.

I expect others will respond with more specifics about their own experiences, but I just wanted to give my .02 worth.

Have fun with your new toy.

Cheers
Kerry

I'm still waiting on my .357 barrel, but in Marlins I've always had real good accuracy from Winchester's 145 grain Silvertip hollow point loading.

What Kerry said about trying different loads! When forced to use factory ammo, I have settled on the Remington 158 HP. Shoots good, brass is excellant and that is the same bullet I get in bulk (cheap) for my handloads.

do you have any pictures of the sights, I am very interested.

Are these from the factory or something else you found elsewhere.  I have tried and tried to find someone who makes a complete set of fiber optics to fit this gun

thanks

The front sight is from my huntsman muzzleloader and the peep sight is a wrgs williams I bought through H&R I had it on my huntsman.  I put a scope on the huntsman.  I just removed the old sights.  The wrgs goes in the rear scope mount holes.  I don't have pictures if I did I wouldn't know how to post them.  I stll haven't been able to shoot it still raining yard is mud.

Odin

or anyone else for that matter.

Do you know if the rear sight off the huntsman will work on the handis?  I love the three dot sight, I am simple.

thanks
