Limbsaver recoil pad for Huntsman

Does anyone know if Simms makes a pre-fit pad for Huntsman? I would rather do that than try to grind one to fit. I have one on my Omega and it is a super pad.

Go to their web site and check out their templates. I have dozens of NEF/H&R stocks, the only one that fits is the small grind-to-fit. Some are close, but no cigar. NEF/H&R has made many stocks styles and sizes over the years, there may be one that's close enough for yours.

I have fitted several of the grind-to-fits, there isn't much grinding, I leave the pad full and just fit the base, then taper the sides, all on a bench grinder. The toughest part would be on a syn stock getting the holes to match up.

Thanks, I have a six inch wide belt sander which is what they recommend; but I was hoping to not have to do the grinding. I used a custom fitted one on my Omega and it was perfect. I guess to do the huntsman I am going to have to grind a little. I sure like the limbsaver as it is the best recoil pad by far; it reduced the recoil of the Omega by about 30%.

Dont trust the Limbsaver templates for size, they don't print out to scale even when deselecting the fit to page. Click on the template # and then measure the height and width. The screw holes will not line up either, so more than likely you will need to drill new holes. They do list one custom fit for the:

Harrington/Richards®
SB2-988 Slug Hunter Wood/Lam 10003

Dont know where the "on" went on Richardson,  but it wasn't there and the template sure doesn't match my Ultra Slug Hunter.

The 10112 looks like a better option but you need to measure the height and width to make sure what that is, then go and check all the templates to see if you can find one with the same dimensions and contour. Some are more rounded, and some are more sleek ans narrower at the heel than others.

If you print out a template, measure it for accuracy, I'll bet it will be smaller than it says by at least 1/4" or so and that won't cut it.

Busta is right, I forgot  (it's been over a year!!) I had to play with print options to get the templates to print to the size indicated.
