i have just been given a knight lk 93 legend that has alot of rust in the barrell what is the best way of cleaning this barrell ? i also want to add that the gun shoots great even with the rusty, neglected barrell..
this gun shot an inch high and dead center with 85grs. of pyrodex and a 240 hornady sabot..
i believe the gun was made in 1986, as 86 is the first 2 digets in the serial # ..i have stripped all the old paint off of the wood and oiled and steel wooled the barrel (outside ) back to very, very good condition. and going to redo the stock as well.
as far as the bore it looks to still have very nice rifeling but it is to rusty to see if and how much pitting is there..but like i said it is a real shooter even in this condition, but i would really like to get it back as good as possible....thanks...jeff
