.357 maximum Marlin

  What's required and what's the feasability of having a Marlin converted to .357 maximum?  I'm guessing it would require the 336action because of the cartridge length.

With the custom work on the lifter ejector, etc., a new 336 in 35Rem will be cheaper. Mic McPherson at www.levergun.com/ has an article on what is attainable on the Marlin action. The 357 Win 94 action would be a cheaper route, but it has some issues for feeding reliably. Incidently, I have no relationship with Mic and his wife is not in very good health, so you may have a wait.

Would be cheaper and easier to get a 336 in .35 Rem.

  Already have a 336 in .35 rem - a 336D.  I just like the Marlin and like the .357 max so thought it was a feasable project.  Got info from another forum on this and I'm thinking I'll pass on this project.
