I suggest that all bullet casters read my book, Jacketed Performance with Cast bullets. Also go over this forum throughly, even if the question doesn't seem important to you, as I make my answers as broadly informative as possible, to cover as many factors as possible which may be important to all readers, not just the questioner.
Bullet weight can go WAY over what most reccomendations, or the greenhil formula allows, IF THE BULLETS ARE BALANCED WHEN THEY LEAVE THE BARREL! You'll pick up all that in reading the above information.
In the 44, a 280 or 300 gr LFN would be good choices, and in the 357, 180 or 200 gr FN. Speeds are high in rifle length barrels with full magnum powder loads, so if bullets are fitted properly, these weights will fly very accurate.
