The Montana Skunkmaster is at it again!
« on: April 20, 2006, 04:33:07 PM »
My wife went out to pick eggs last evening. She has 2 coops. The little coop has about 24 heavy layers and an assortment of exotics in it.The big coop has 60 assorted heavy layers. As she approached the little coop a skunk came out the chicken door with an egg in his mouth, lifted up the chicken wire with his snout and went under the hay barn. There was real loud yelling and much fast running to the house.I went out and set the El Coyotero High Plains Skunk Cubby up.It's a heavy cardboard box  from U Haul with an opening cut to accommodate a 220 conibear, recessed slightly.Baited with Walmart Salmon flavored cat food. This A.M's check no action.Come home a little while ago from hauling feed from the big city. There's a skunk, neck and chest caught.Didn't spray.Got 3/4 oz.pure skunk essence from the rascal.I might quit my day job and make a long lining skunk video and go out on the trappers convention circuit.May give skunk instructions.Just a thought. :P
I love the smell of coyote gland lure early in the morning. It smells like victory!!
