Hello...
I used to own a Benelli R1 in .300 Winchester Magnum. I bought the rifle new. I had a problem with it's functioning right off the bat, and sent it back to the factory for correction. The factory people did what they are supposed to do, and I even spoke to the guy on the phone as he was working with my rifle. I can't complain about their service. However, after it returned, and it functioned fine thereafter, accuracy was not on a par with what I expect in a rifle. I found that it would not hold consistent groups, a disturbing fact. I would wait patiently in between shots, to no avail. The Benelli, IMO, has some accuracy problems. I suppose the accuracy I was getting would suffice in hunting situations, but I really expect to get better accuracy for the price I paid. Eventually, although I hated to do it, I traded the Benelli for a Browning Lightweight Stalker in the same caliber. Accuracy with the Browning has been outstanding, and IMO it is a better product.
My advice: get a Browning. You won't regret it.
