if gun weighs 1/2 as much, it recoils 2x as hard.

when firing the same load, same grip on it.   People "think" that practicing with a full size and wt 1911 makes them "ok" when carrying an alloy framed, micro-compact  variant of the 1911.  Not so, at all. What you'd best do is practice a lot with an alloy  framed commander if you carry the micro-compact for defense.  The full size and wt gov't model is way too tame by comparison. You'd have to load really hot ammo for it to be as hard to control as the little carry guns are, and even then, you'd still not have the same problems with a short frame and slide as are noticed with the little versions of this gun.
