I have a synthetic Omega stock and would like to take about 3/4" off the butt.
I have a short torso and narrow chest and to obtain a proper fit I need to cut it.
Does anyone know how much of the butt of the stock is solid?

Buying another stock is not possible. I wish it was.

I would guess that this would not work. I'd bet that the stock is hollow just past the recoil pad. I hated the plastic stock and built a walnut stock for asthetics and to increase the LOP on my Omega.

I'd think your best bet would be to remove the current recoil pad (it is very stiff anyway) and order the thinest recoil pad you can find from Pachmeyer or one of the other makers. This may reduce the lop by 1/2 of an inch.

Thanks. I thought about making a stock this summer for it out of a piece of birch I have had seasoning on my attick for the past year.
I may cut the butt off and fill the empty stock to increase it's weight.

Well, I called TC today and talked to a tech. He said once I took the butt plate off I would see how the screw holes were constructed.
I did and then cut 1/2" off the back end and then rea ttached the butt pad.
That need to finish sanding but this thing fits so much better.
The entire stock is hollow. I'll be putting this space to good use this year.
