:-D  :lol: Brett-very funny :lol:  Leather is not hard to work. If I can do it ,almost anybody can. Just cut a piece of scrap leather(5 to 8 oz.).Cut it parallel to the butt. Wrap it around and cut it where it is about an inch short of meeting. Punch holes along edge for lacing. Lay fitted piece on a flat surface and cut 1/4 or 3/8 slits to hold 17 or 22 rimfire ammo. Lay out to suit. Punch 1/16 in. hole at each end of slits to keep them from splitting out. Strip of leather across butt keeps holder from sliding forward. I hope this makes sense, guys. fine craftsmanship indeed! i'd hate to stray from the specific topic but i got a Kolpin holder for centerfire, what can i use to stuff underneath it to raise the comb?

Closed cell neoprene foam would work great, I'd use a piece from an old pair of waders, but if you don't have a pair, that'd be a problem. A cheap pair of gravel guards sacrificed would work, too.  A fabric store may have it, dunno for sure tho. It's available online.

:grin: Lostsniper308, scrap leather would work. Depending on the thickness, use one or more pieces layered together till it suits you. Quick has a good idea ,too. Use whatever is available. Hunman55                         www.tandyleather.com has bags of scrap leather.
