I finally got to shoot my new 1894C with both .357 & .38 spcl ammo today. It shot decent groups, but I could not adjust the sights enough to get on target. It shot about 4" to the right.

I've been looking on the Williams website and see that they have a combination Firesight & peep sight listed. I might need to get one.

Any comments?

Sounds like if the windage is off, you will need to tap the rear a tad to the right to bring it on in. It is dovetailed. You can move the front sight also, your choice.
As far as sights go, for mine I installed the Marbles full buckhorn on the rear and the Williams front sight with the 1/8" bead in brass. Old tired eyes, it makes for faster aquisition in my case.
Also for about $125 Marbles make a dandy tang sight for the 1894 too. I think you need to drill one hole though. :grin:

These 68 year old eyes are also a bit tired. That's why I'm considering the firesight. I have them on my GP-100 and my 10/22 and they really help me line up the sights.

You're helpful, but my Williams is already ordered. I just tracked the shipment and it will be delivered tomorrow. Looking forward to trying it out.

I tried the firesight on my 336 but it became a big glaring glob for my 61 year young eyes. Then it broke, somehow (thank the Good Lord). I now have a sourdough sight from Brownell's on the front with a Williams 5D in the back and it shoots as well as I can!

I finally got a chance to try out the Williams peep & firesight and it worked great for me on paper targets. Next step is to try it on game, maybe a groundhog.

I got the One Ragged Hole for my GP 100, what a difference. I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn after I got progressive glasses. Had to lean my head way back to see the front sight and couldn't see the back worth a darn. I put on the larger aperture since I hunt and couldn't believe the difference. At first I got some vertical stringing but after I got the hang of it I was shooting cloverleafs. I popped a 6 point buck at a fast walk and had no trouble staying on a moving target.

The secret to Progressive lense is to get the same magnification on the top of the glasses, as the bottom. Make them center the sight. That way you can lean down your head and sight the iron mounts.
