Well, guys, I'm finally taking off. I've mentioned my hog trip a few of times in the last 2 months and it is finally here. I'm taking the contender and 1 night rifle and hitting the road for Texas in a couple of hours and should be back this weekend. Wish me luck (and sausage)!

Let us know how ya did.

I live here and have a lease but haven't been able to get out for almost three weeks.  All this employment is interfering with my recreation!

Well we made it back. Pretty tough hunting for several reasons. We had a cold front come through as we got into camp and were dealing with 20-30 mph winds and a 20 degree temperature drop. Second, our guide wasn't nearly as familiar with the hogs in the area as he stated. We did manage to bring home a couple of small (and stupid) ones at least, and we still had a terrific time. It was better than working. We'll try another place next time.
