Help with Cartridge Holder
« on: December 01, 2005, 10:57:51 AM »
I would like to buy and try a cartridge holder that I have seen Larry Weishuhn using on his encore on his tv hunts.  It appears to be a 3 shell holder that slides over the barrel and rests on the forend and holds the shells parallel to the barrel rather than vertical.  It functions the same as the slip over butt stock shell holder that has been around for years except that it is for a fore end.

The problem is I can't find them anywhere on the net.  Nor can I find a valid email for Larry Weishuhn to ask him about it.

Does anyone know anything about these?

Any help appreciated.

I use this type of setup on my Encore.  What I did was purchase from Fox Ridge one of Franks wrist reloaders (small) which is velcro and attach it as tight as I couls get it.  Works just fine.

I was just looking for the same thing myself. We must have seen the same show.

I saw this one at Midway so i thought I would try it. Says it is a wrist carrier and only holds 2, but it looks as though it should work. Mine should be here on Monday.

Catalog number 563-878 in case the link doesn't work.

Thanks for the replies.

The holder I'm looking for holds the shells parallel to the barrel.  The wrist holders appear to hold them perpendicular.

I wish I could find an email address for Larry, but so far know luck.

Thanks,

Smoky

I have searched high and low to find Mr.Weishun's email address(contact info)to no avail. I think the easiest way to get him is through T/C's Game Trails outdoor show or the NAHC. I will keep trying to find something.

Thanks for the reply.

On the website for TC Gametrails, there is an email address for both Larry as well as Gregg Ritz.  I tried to email both of them, but both came back undeliverable.

So no luck so far.

Have you tried calling Thompson Center in New Hampshire?  I thought I saw somewhere that he actually is on the payroll now?  They may be able to tell you more about the carrier as well.  I have several episodes on video and have my mother working on making me a couple out of some regular elastic holders and some elastic/velcro strips.  Maybe I need to tell her to step it up a little and I can quit my job and just sell them? :)

The forearm cartridge holder is listed in T/C's master catalog as item #9363
It hold 2 shells and fits on the forearm(somehow-the pic doesn't show it on a forearm)
Hope this helps
