I just got a .308 Survivor, and I'm comparing it to my Springfield M6 Scout. I like the small size and sights of the Scout, so I plan to cut down the barrel of the NEF to 18", and add a set of iron sights.
Questions:
1) Assuming shots will be taken at 150 yards or less, will reducing the sight radius from 22" to 18" have any appreciable impact on accuracy?
2) Will muzzle blast increase substantially if I cut the barrel from 22" down to 18"? I realize this is subjective, but the only input I've gotten so far has been from guys who shoot FN's and HK's. Their receivers are longer than the NEF, so of course their muzzles are farther away as well.
I sure appreciate any input.
Thanks, Dutch
