Winchester Prices on Gun Auctions Websites
« on: March 05, 2006, 09:16:35 AM »
Has anyone checked out some of the ridiculous prices on the gun auction sites.  At least I have noticed that most of these guns have not been sold, nobody is bidding on them.  Guess that great increase in Winchester prices was just a matter of "Demand and Supply".  The seller was demanding a high price and the buyer was supplying nada.

winchesters post-64 products didn't get any better when they went out of business (in fact i suspect they caused Winchester to go out of business).

For instance, who is thinking right now, "Oh my god, where can I ever get a good rifle now?".

It is so sad..  I noticed a guy who had his 30-06 & 270 for around 800 or 900...  a featherweight with a vxIII..  Now I see he has them for 1500 ??  I wonder the logic of that one? :)

I just bought a 444 Timber still in box off a local gun collector for $650 w/ a set of dies. Before he called me I was looking on Gunbrokers for the same thing these guys wanted 750 to 995.plus 30 to 40 for s/h.There was no way I was paying that for any 94.I saw a used Trapper in 44 mag. I wanted the guy wanted 625 for it.I think maybe he was on drugs  .
I could buy one at Grice's for 290 used. It's stupid what can you do? :-)

anyone who thinks winchesters are going to vanish doesn't think much in life...

You can still find good pre-64 shotguns and rifles and they were well made guns.

Looks like the "levers" have taken a jump in price. The pre-64 models of the 94 are moving up the price scale faster than gas prices.  One good thing about it though is there are plenty of Winchesters to go around.....course that will change in time.
I`m going to (2) gun shows in the next two weeks (Lakeland and Olando,Fla) so  i`ll get to see first hand what  venders want for a 94.

Went to the Gun Show in Orlando this morning and the place was packed.
Plenty of guns as one would expect put i`d say more pistols then rifles
    overall.
Saw some nice Win 94`s for sale. Several really nice ones priced between $350-$400.  Most were well over $400 as expected.
Saw (1) Win 94 in 32 Spl and it was priced at $525, pre-64.
One thing i didn`t see ( i could have missed them) were any Savage
99`s.  Those boys are harder to find then hens teeth.
If somebody is looking for a gun, any gun, you can`t beat a Gun Show.
Saw one other rifle that was nice a BLR, non pistol grip, in .358.
"Asking" price $550. I liked the cal but not the price besides it wasn`t a
     Savage 99.
   Walked away empty handed..........

Is it just me or looks like things are starting to cool off a bit on the GunBroker?
