blackhawk 357/9mm

Hi Guys,  Well about a month ago I picked your brains for opinions on the blackhawk 357/9mm with the 4 5/8 " barrel.  Decided thats what I wanted, went down to a local shop to order one, saw a 50th aniv. model 357 in the show case, asked the owner if I could look at it, really nice, in fact thats all I could think about for the next couple of days. Decided that I really wanted to get that blackhawk instead of the convertable, went down and bought it yesterday. Guess I don't need to shoot 9mm's any ways. But thanks for your opinions on the convertable, you had me sold till I handled that flat top, she feels so good when you hold her.

Won't Ruger fit it with a 9mm cylinder also?  I seem to remember that that was an option at one time, at least.  Of course everything has gotten topsy-turvy with "Homeland Security."

I'll keep my family secure myself, thank you!

welcome to the club.  Enjoy that .357 BH.  I've got one - though it's a NM BH.

Don't forget to try some 200 grain cast bullet loads.  I like to play with them because I can get full-magnum power from a plain ol' cast bullet.  I get about 1200 fps.

I had the convertable and now I have the aniversary Flat Top.
The Flat Top is like you said, just a little sweeter. The proportions of grip to frame to barrel are a little more pleasing to the eye.
The steel sights, steel ejector housing and pawl clinched the deal for me.
I had the base pin jump out on me, getting a Belt Mountain replacement.
Stiff loads of Titegroup under a 158 grain XTP shoot really well.
Mine is going off to Bob Munden for a trigger/action job.
I'll post a report when it comes back.
