38/55 W&H Target Rifle

How long have these been made & will H&R fit any barrel to them?I know H&R will not fit all the barrels to older recievers.Also why does the 38/55 have steel spacer & triggerguard & the 45/70 doesn't?Thanks for your help!flylo

I was not aware that the trigger guard and spacer on the 38-55 Target Model was metal... I do know that an owner of a Buffalo Classic can send their Buffalo Classic in with the special offer notice posted on http://BuffaloClassic.tripod.com and get those items for a fee.

There are those that have just the H&R 1871 handi-rifle and can send in their reciever and forstock and get the Buffalo Classic 32" barrel now, along with the buttstock as well too.

Those that own a Buffalo Classic if so desired can also send in their reciever and forstock and have a 38-55 Target barrel fitted.

A nice way of owning several differant variations of H&R 1871.
