Hi. saw the length of seasons and wanted to know !

I had heard that 'Bama deer season was long and you guys could shoot a lot of deer, so I checked it out. I went to the game commision website, and saw that its not really 2 a day for the season , but you guys can still get a lot of deer. I was just a little confused about the ......Stalking only, lease/own only, hunters choice, and the dog , and buckshot, and antlers only, and than you had bow and ML, and national forest. Ok.... so I am a little confused with a little bit of it, but I dont hunt there, so it really does not matter if I understand the details. ......
What I want to know is, how many deer do you guys see, how many do most people shoot?  Are they sneaky, smart, big, small?
My Dad wants to check it out in the future, so I am just courious now.
90 day deer season, 2 deer a day....wow...and you guys dont get snow...wow!

First up be aware that the multiple deer per day apply only to privately owned land not public land. Unless you know someone you'll have to hunt on public land, a lease or at a pay lodge.

In about 2/3 of the state it really is a two per day limit with one being a buck or both being does but only one buck per day can be taken. But unless you're in south Bama where all the huge numbers of them are you won't even see two deer per day so don't worry about what to do with all the extra meat.  

Bow season is two deer per day all season all over the state I think.

Where I hunt in the NE area of the state I don't even see deer each day I go out. In fact the last few years I hunted (I've missed the last two seasons due to health) I saw less than a half dozen all season long. Just depends on the area.

Some places it's not uncommon to see 50 or more per day and to take 20-50 per season if you really want to kill that many. In much of the state you're lucky if you get one per season. It really varies.

I live in the central part of the state.We have plenty deer.My mother gets at least one every 2 years with the car.I usually get 2 decent bucks and 4-5 does a season.I hunt on private land,a lot of times these may be backyard deer on small 20-40 acre plots.True trophys are hard to come by though,I have some on wall and have a lot of early fall game cam pics of the monsters,but they get really hard to find once the hunting starts.My largest pistol kill was an 188lb 6 pointer with an 18" inside spread.I probably should have let him go,but it was really nice with the encore.

Down here in my part of the state it is two a day for the entire season, on privately owned or leased land. That isn't a guarantee that you'll be able to get two, but it is legal and possible, altho I've only done it  a few times. Most of the time I just don't have a hankering to dress and process two deer, especially when Bama is playing on the t.v.!
