Best surp ammo is Greek HXP but good luck finding that...I have 250 rds in bandoleer with stripper clips.

Good factory is S&B and now WOLF GOLD has it in 2 loadings:
150 gr SP
174 gr FMJ

Best thing is try a few out . There's UMC , PMC , Sellier/Bellot , Bell and keep your eyes open for mil-surp sales .
For hunting , my preferance is Winchester Super X with 180gr pills.

Sellier & Bellot is very good.
The South African FMJ is excellent when you can find it.
The Winchester or Remington loads are so underpowered
that you might as well be carrying a light .30-30 instead of the heavy milsurp rifle. They seem about the same power wise
I have not tried the Wolf yet. Hand loading is best because you can Tailor your load to a specific rifle.

The S&B is about the best, but the Wolf ammo seems to be up and coming.  Most commercial ammo is loaded with a .311 diameter bullet - if your groups are larger than you would like then try some ammo, probably Hornaday, with the .312 diameter bullet and you groups should close up.  HTH.  Mikey.
