The Beretta 390 is the best semi auto
« on: March 14, 2006, 02:11:55 PM »
I have been shooting 390s in comptition for 3 or 4 years now. I ended up with 3 target guns because I wanted a back up and a back up to the back up. I love the raised rib, the low recoil and the fact that they will shoot and shoot without cleaning. I don't think any other auto comes close. I see Beretta just brough it back as the 3901! Now if they would make a high rib 20 gauge and a lefty. Shotgunner

............has been available right along. It has a black fiberglass stock and dull finish. The new 3901 was writen up in the skeet shooter's review and will be made as hunting and target gun with several options. The 390 field guns are not real pretty but use the same action and are as reliable. I have shot 7/8 oz reloads at 1.200 fps through mine as well as 3" mag Hevishot with complete reliability. What type action does the 3901 use that makes it so reliable?

Ok shotgunner...I'm curious why it is better than the 391?
