Welcome, this is more complicated than you may think and everyone has a different opinion on the use of a squeaker. If you call up a coyote with a regular call and squeak him and he runs off you probably should not have used the squeaker. Each situation calls for a different set of actions. For myself if i have one coming in and he is H**l bent on getting there i will not squeak him for fear of running him off. Calling is not a science, Its more a trial and error thing. I am sure you will get more feed back on this subject. In my opinion the squeaker works great on fox by itself. Good luck to ya Catdaddy :D .........Joe...........

Catdaddy I think the best bet for you is to get a hold of one of the Manufactors of calls and see what they have to offer, Or go to a sporting goods store and see if they have any thing that might help you. The question you asked is impossable to answer in print. you need some thing to work off of like a tape or somthing. Good luck..........Joe...........

I carry a squeaker with me all the time.and as said,It depends on what is taking place whether to use it or not.You can call a coyote with just the squeaker.I have a tape of rodent squeaks that works but it has no volume to it.and they have to be kinda in the area to make em come to it.
If a coyote is comin on in.There is no reason to use it.(the squeaker is normally or also called a coaxer)but when the coyote hangs up and seems to be looking for it bearings.a couple squeaks will get it's attention and normally will start heading right to the sound.I keep mine in my left breast pocket and just press against the shirt a couple times to squeak it.If I am well camoed and hidden behind a bush and the coyote can not see me.I can bring him right up to the barrel of the shotgun with the squeaker.good luck and be safe..
my huntin rifle is safe from confiscation only while my battle rifle protects it.
