I've been using Break Free on tumble cleaned cases for a year now and it seems to be working out real well. Especially on the Swiss K31 cases which can be a real pain to full length size. But I use VERY little of it.

Pam

Pam is nothing but canola oil. I use G96 on a rag and have never had problems. Just get the rag moist all over but not sopping wet, just moist. Take a few cases and roll them on the rag and do your thing. Take the same cases- after sizeing, and lay them on a dry towel and lap it over them and roll them back and forth a few times and then they are dry once again. I use a pipe cleaner just barely moist with G96 and do the mouths of the cases for inside lube. A few flakes of power may stick to the bit of oil inside the mouth of the case but it does not affect the ignition nor does it affect your load at all. Been doing this for nearly 40 years and not had any problems. It's always a mess spraying cases that's why i do it this way. I tried mica dust and it's a big pain so gave that to a friend to try hehehe. Hope this helps someone. It's easy and clean and fast.

G96 Gun treatment
« Reply #33 on: April 28, 2006, 04:03:18 AM »
G96 is a spray on gun treatment. It cleans, lubes and with a very slight film of it on your guns it doesn't seem to dissapear like other gun treatments do. I mean it doesn't seem to evaporate very fast. Anywho, that's what it is. It's not slimey like other oils. It does cost quit a bit though. About 7 or 8 bucks for a large can but it goes a long way.

I guess you can lube with anything?

It is amazing how many different things we all use to lube cases. And every one of us thinks we have the best idea. Myself included.
Over the years I have seen everything from woman's hand cream to motor oil suggested. I guess the best stuff is whichever one we happen to like, whether it is rolled on, sprayed on or maybe dunked? Hmmm, that would be different. ha ha ha And when I think about it, it's all good so long as we can keep on shooting.

case lube

Your right qujag59. As long as we keep shooting indeed. I use to work at an Army ammunition factory. Called Lake City AAP. They took the the raw brass case cups and drew them out in about three or four steps. All of those steps -the cases had some sort of soap lube applied to them in a big rumble barrel. But the final case neck forming process was done with no lube at all. t After the final draw of the case it  had to be annealed before the neck was done. Which made the brass very soft at the mouth. But before the neck could be done the primer pocket and the head stamp were done and then they went to 'head turn' area. Big machines that were nothing but screw machines, did the extractor groove. A very interesting process. When I first went to work there my mouth salivated daily at all the ammo in front of me hehehehehe. I do ramble on don't I?
