Proper cap size

Help My son got a cva pistol kit in .45 cal. I finish it and we shot it for the first time today. I used #11 cap but they fit loose and banana :eek: . Also does anyone know what sights this kit may have used it has a dovetail cut in rear of barrel.

Could be a Musket Nipple with the kit. Easiest thing to is to buy a new #11 nipple. I had the same thing happen on a Cabels Muzzleloader. Got a new nipple, and everything was fine.

Can't help on the dovetail yet. But they do come in standard sizes.

where to get 10's?  I've never been able to find them but need them too...
