A local store has this ammo on sale. It is 55 gr. FMJ BT. Just curious if anyone has any experience with this particular ammo. It's on sale for $3.99 for 20. Thanks for any info.

Federal American Eagle is good ammo. The 55 gr FMJ BT is primarily a AR-15 cartridge I think but might group ok in a handi. Mine prefers 50 to 45 grain bullets. Can't use FMJ ammo at my rifle range so never tried it. That is a good price however. Normally it would be $5.00 to $6.00 per box.

This is excellant ammo at an excellant price. Has shoot good to outstanding in all of my 223s. And the cases are great for handloading.

When I 1st bought my Handi 223 a few years ago , I tried different ammo and the American Eagle worked the best . I shot the50 gr hp's as I don't care for FMGs . I also shoot the American Eagle ammo in my TC pistol but reload 50 gr Hornaday V-Max for the Handi using the American Eagle brass !
