I bought a used BSA sweet 17 scope for a great price. The gunshop took it off of a 223 CZ rifle. I know that it is calibrated for the 17 HMR, but I want to put it on a Model 70 WSSM. Will it work? Thanks!

well by all technicallities it should but how's the eye relief is the biggest question? as far i'm concerned the Sweets are just a different version of the contender and mil-dot lines. Along with eye relief issues is recoil, would you trust a BSA to a WSSM? i was next to guy with a .300WM and a BSA target so maybe it would work but i personally wouldn't trust it.

Thanks, guys. I may try it. I'm not concerned with the recoil of a 223 WSSM, but the scope may be. Heck, maybe I need to go out and get a 17HMR rifle now,and solve my problem!

if you like BSA and .223 WSSM i'd get a Catseye or Panther those are the top line and have nice reviews on Midwausa.com
