Both the 45-70 Handi and 45-50 Buffalo Classic are still in production.  The BC having lesser made.

Sports South Inc, the supplier for Walmart and many others, is out of stock on both.

From even the activities at this site, it appears the 45-70 has been a hot seller lately.  I think theres been a handful of people here to recently buy one.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! :x  :x  :x

I decided to get the standrard handi instead of the BC,(which I still am)
because they were out of stock. Now the handis are out of stock!
Seems Missisippi lets you use them for their "primitive" deer season, and thats where alot of em went.

OHHJIMMY, thanks for the web address. I'm headed to Mississippi in the morning to pickup the rifles. May change my mind and get a 44 for my wife don't know if she can stand the 45-70.
thanks again Jim

I hope you went for the 45/70 as I think you will be much happier with the accuracy.  I shoot a 300-g HP at top end .44 levels.   In mine and have very little recoil.  Then is the need is ever there I can load her up with a bullet that will bring down anything in North America.
