How much velocity does the auto action lose compared to firing the same cartridge in a different type action with comparable barrel lengths?

 The difference in a gas operated semi vs closed system can be practically nothing, In my opinion a fast barrel compared to a slow barrel (same length) can have a much greater velocity difference than the velocity lost from the small amount of gas bled off to work the action.

With my Rem 742 in 30/06 and my NEF Handi rifle in 30/06, the same load will be about 100 fps slower in the Rem rifle. Barrel length is 22 inches for both..Will a deer know the difference, I think not.The load i use is the Hornady 165 gr SST with 50.0 gr of RL-15 with a CCI match primer in Remington cases..JimP
