1894CL .32 H&R magnum
« on: April 11, 2006, 11:48:18 AM »
Looking at getting one of these little gems.  I've read that some hve had issues with feeding, others have had no issues at all.  Anyone here give thoughts on this?  Also, Maybe I'm missing something just too obvious to see but whay is this model so much more than the other 1894's?

Accuracy?

Mine feeds well, and is feeding 120gr. cast with 4.5gr. of 800X.  Gives me 1 inch at 50 with factory sights.  It does seem to like the .314 sized bullets just fine.

Isn't the gun based on the rimfire 39A? This was, I thought, always a higher dollar item than the centerfires. Then you have this low volume offshoot with the costs of conversion. But the Marlin folks know that the Cowboy shooters will pay for a gun that works, so hopefully they are OK out of the box. I have a hankering for a 32 Mag Carbine, but I'll wait and see about the Taurus. This years $$ is already spent on M1917's and O3A3 for CMP matches...

Hi MIne had feeding issues. Marlin issued a call tag. Just got my new replacement rifle 4-14-06. It feeds 151% better than the 1-st one I got a couple wks ago. You can't beat Marlin or S&W for cust service. Get one you'll like it.

Looke darond some more and discovered that taurus is to offer a .32 lever gun later this year.  quite a bit less money but I'll still stick with the Marlin.  Happy with my 336D and I like the overall mechaincics and appearnace more than the Taurus.   Gotta wait a little bit as another .32 Single Six birdshead gets ordered Tuesday and there's till a Sacage coming in May.  After that I save for the .32 marlin.  $684 I was told it would cost me out the door.

Did you look at the 1894CL in .32-20?  Little better performance than the .32
