which one is good for brown bears ?

the kodiak mark iv double rifle in 9.3x74R, Model 1895M in 450 Marlin or 45/70, 454 or 480 ruger, Handi-Rifle in 500s&w ,M98 Mauser Rifle in  8mm ?

i have seen on T.V some kill a bear with the 454.

In agreement, all work, but find a rifle.  A big one.  There are some who take browns with handguns, but I would go with a real, large caliber, rifle round.

The 450 Marlin or the 45-70 are the only ones on your list that I would take.  Reason they are the only ones that I feel is adiquate that has readily availiable ammo, if your gun arrives and tha ammo doesnot.

have you use some of those guns? i have use the 8mm for hogs and it would put them down fast.  and availiable ammo you could just get somemore at most places( walmart) they have 9.3x74r and 8mm at the walmart were i live.
