What is Most Accurate 7.62X39 Semi-auto ?
« on: April 15, 2006, 02:36:28 PM »
I have an ak-47, great rifle, eats anything, but not very accurate, I was looking for a "long range plinking rifle".....  And I want to have it in a semi-auto.

I already have a bushmaster and its a blast to plink, cheap, reliable, and very accurate, but I also wanted a 30-cal for plinking purposes.

What suggestions do you boys have (I have a feeling D man is going to scream "SAIGA SAIGA SAIGA SAIGA" lol :)

I know it's not a semi, But if you want a really accurate plinking rifle in 7.62x39 I recomend the CZ527 carbine. My example is unbelievably accurate. A real joy to shoot.

Of the three I own the Saiga is much more accurate than my SKS and Mini-30.  The SKS in next most accuracy and the Mimi 30 is a good accross the room self defense gun. I took the scope off it and replaced it with a red dot, easy access to target but not great long range accuracy.

7.62 x 37 Rifle Accuracy

:D
I've owned several AK derivatives, two SKS rifles and a Ruger Mini-30. The most accurate two (about equally accurate at about 2 MOA off the bench at 100 with Wolf military duplicate 122 grain loads) were a Chinese AK and the Ruger. I kept the Ruger because it handles and points so much better for me.

A chinese norinco sks with chinese norinco ammo is the most accurate rifles in 7,62x39 i have ever shot.  My iron sited chinese paratrooper 16" barrel will shoot 1 1/2" groups @ 100yds and my 20" barreled chinese sks scoped will shoot under 1" groups at 100yds also.

I think its all about the quality of the ammo were using and i also heard the white box 7,62x39 winchester ammo is just as good as the norinco ammo but your gun may differ too.  Its all about matching the right ammo to the gun because they can be really ammo finiky at times with accuracy.
