I have 3 enfields, the butt stock is allready easy to remove just one bolt and it comes off. I have seen "on the internet" a remington 870 folding stock modified to fit the enfield. Not sure what you are looking. Please specify.

I would like to be able to be able to take the rear stock off and back on with out tools.
I want to carry the gun when traveling out of state.

You need tools to remove the rear stock on the SMLEs. The bolt/nut that holds the rear stock to the frame is situated way down in the stock by the rear of the action. I think I had to use 2 or 3 4" extentions on a socket wrench just to reach it.

I am sure that if you found a longer threaded rod to replace the one that originally came with the rifle you could use that for a 'quicker' disassembly but youwould still need tools to tighten it down so the stock fits tightly. Mikey.

Well, I have seen 1 take-down 303 it was a commercial sporter made between the wars flush mount magazine and beautiful finishing. Had nice smooth barrel with qaulity sporting sights. It took between the barrel and receiver the forend was quick release and then the barrel unscrewed with the interupted screw style. It was very traditional, very cool. It was at an online auction dont know if you could find one again.

Sounds like you are looking to a custom job to me... take it to a smith and see what he tells you. There are many different ways to bolt different stuff onto a gun... just takes imagination and the right tools.
