Mr. Greybeard sir,

I know I am the newbee here  :?  and like your page ALOT.  But I am curious why there is no topic page for us Taurus owners.  Seems like we would do it justice.  Just wondering...

Main reason is there just doesn't seem to be enough interest it them. Me I love them. I'd have no problem at all with adding a Taurus Forum but if it is going to languar with no use then why?

Someone suggested it awhile back and set up a poll on it. After 2-3 months there still was only 4-5 folks who indicated an interest.

Taurus revolvers are my primary handguns these days. Heck I just bought another one this week. Most of my S&W guns are gone and Taurus is taking their place. Like Chris says if you wanna try another poll I have no problem with it. Maybe the Forum in the Help and Announcements Section isn't the right place to ask. Maybe this forum is. I dunno.

I generally want to see about 6-8 folks minimum express an interest in having a new forum and then someone to volunteer to moderate it.

I've just gone thru this with two new forums recently. Neither of the folks who volunteered to moderate them have made a single post on them. One I've already dumped and the other is likely to go soon.

I noticed this morning the Poll is still up and running on the Request a New Forum Forum and was added in the first few days of July. So far three folks have voted yes and four voted no. Not much interest it seems.

I found the results of that poll but could not find where to vote for it.  Can you direct me?

If you are seeing the results it means one of two things.

1. You've already voted. or
2. The period set for it has ended.

I'll take a look at it when I get a chance and see if it needs to be opened for a longer time.

I haven't voted for the new forum for the simple reason that there are already three forums which fit the bill: Handgun Hunting, Handgun General Discussion, and Double Action Revolvers. All three apply to the Taurus family of revolvers just fine. And, there's no need to keep up with another forum. I have a hard enough time reading all the posts on the forums I watch now!
That said, I do welcome posts on Taurus products, as the one I have now is becomming my all-time favorite .44. They put out a quality product. I haven't seen or talked to anyone, that has owned and used one of their handguns, that wasn't pleased with them. And, you can't beat their warranty.
For those out there that haven't tried one, you don't know what you're missing. Oh yeah, that and the fact that if they get TOO popular, prices may take a jump - Bad for MY budget :) .
BTW Bill, saw the pic of your new Taurus. Are you sure you aren't trying to reduce your groups by getting the muzzle significantly closer to the target? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bug.

Well now Bug now that you mention it using those really long barrels does always reduce group sizes. Maybe you have hit on the "real" reason why.  :)

For what it's worth the poll had been set up to run 7 days only. I opened it back up for voting. But as Bug mentioned there are a lot of forums now for which discussion of Taurus revolvers and other handguns is appropriate.

Half of my handguns are Taurus (RBs).  2 in 454 and 1 in 480.  I don't know how much we can talk about Taurus specifically, but I would try to participate best I can to keep it going.
