:D  Wondering about the value of a French MAS 36. It is in like new condition and has 30 rounds of ammo ( militery ). I am thinking about selling it, is $200 shipped to much? It really looks un fired but I know it has. Thanks for any advise

This is a tough gun to price I would checkout "gunsamerica" or an "auction site" to get an idea Numrich gun parts is selling MAS 36's cheap I'm not sure of the condition. French rifles aren't in demand thou some do collect them. You may want to take to a local gun show to sell it. Or you can put in on internet on one of the forums classified adds. Most likely it will sell quickly.                                        BigBill

I have a French MAS36 in 308win. caliber with a side safety I haven't seen too many like this one.

Big Bill;

How does your MAS 36 in .308 shoot?  I heard that the conversion was simply removing the barrel, cutting off the back two threads, and then remounting the barrel and reaming out the .308 chamber.  Is that what was done to yours?

Also, how do the 7.5 french and the .308 stack up?  Is their any concern with greater pressure in the .308?

Thanks,

John C

John;
I haven't had time to shoot it yet, so many toys and not enough time. My MAS36 has a brand new 308 win. barrel in it. There is a difference from 7.5 to 7.62(308).                                         BigBill
