Production varients in the post WWII Winchester M1894
« on: June 05, 2006, 09:52:41 AM »
I have two '94s.  The first a pre '64 in 32 Special (2 million plus SN) that has been in the family since before 1964 and what I presume to be a post '64 in 30-30. (4 million plus SN)  Both are in the standard carbine configuration.

I was told that the post '64s substituded pins for screws.  But the 30-30 has screws in places the 32 Spl does not and does not seem to be substituting pins for screws.  The location of the pins or screws on the side of the receiver differs slightly.

I'm no expert on these variations.  What was the story?
