Question for the 1911 enthusiasts
« on: June 06, 2006, 02:39:56 AM »
I was looking at modifying a bare bones 1911 into a Hard Ball gun for bullseye shooting but it seems like I may be better off getting one with adjustable sights already mounted. Can you recommend a 1911 with decent adjustable sights, but not a lot of other frills?

Kimber's Stainless Target is a winner.  I have it in 45cal, 40S&W, 9mm, and a 10mm.  Just received the 10mm, but have shot 100s of rounds through all of the pistols except the 10.  The 9mm has gotten the most range time due to low  :-)  cost of ammunition.I also own several other kimber models, and they all shoot & function well.

I also have other models of kimbers and they all function well and need no extra work, unless you just want to add bells & whistles.  Also own a full size 1911 by S&W that shoots and functions well.

You would not go wrong with either make.

Good Shooting, jebsr :-)
