I have been shooting a Rem XR-100 in 204  for about 6 months. The most accurate rifle I have shot in 20 yrs. I did have a Rem 40XB
that shot very good about 30 yrs ago. I am using ACCurate 2230 powder, only because I have a large supply on hand, there are better powders. Also using Horny 32 gr V-max,excellent bullet. Get one you will not be sorry. Mack

Babe915,
I concur.  I have shot this gun for about four months now and about a hundred rockchucks.  I am currently shooting quarter inch groups with Hornady Brass, Sierra 32gr Blitzkings, and Rel 10x powder.  I get more compliments and requests to shoot the gun from varmint hunters and range shooters than any gun I own.  I have a Leopold 6.5-20 VXIII Varmint Reticle, and Rocky Point Bi-pod and the whole package looks great.  Absolutely love the trigger and its quick adjustability.  You won't be sorry with the choice.

thanks guys for the info. I was in so. dakota last week and stopped in cabela's they had the rem
in stock but when i tried the trigger there was a lot of creep in it. the salesman then showed me
savage varmint with the accue trigger and it had no creep and it can be adjusted down to 1/12
lbs. which i am used to with my present rifles. the 100 can only be adjusted to 2 lbs or more as
stated on rem. website.  I am stll kicking it around

I was looking for a varmint rifle as well, and had planned on getting a Savage. Then I held a Rem VLSSTH in .22-250, and it was love at first sight; it handles and points naturally, and feels lighter than the Savage. It looks like the XR-100, same stock and barrel dimensions, but has a magazine. I already have a single shot in .223, so I went for it. Haven't got a scope for it yet, but when I do I hope it shoots as well as the XR. Good luck; I don't think think you can go wrong with what's been mentioned.
