model 10 scout??
« on: May 21, 2006, 02:33:27 PM »
i picked one up a couple of weeks ago and cant find ant info on it
it is blued with synthetic stock scout scope rail out on the barrel and a detachable box mag in 7-08
it also has a ghost ring williams rear sight and a front post
i didnt care much for the scout style scope rail set up so i removed it and the rear sight and mounted a regular style weaver base and rings with a nice little 3x9x40 that i know i can trust to be true from past experience
i looked on the savagearms website and dont see anything on this rifle
this is my first bolt action rifle in abt 25 years as i got into shooting lever actions and singleshot rifles
anyone with any experience on this style gun let me know the good/ bad and the ugly
thanks

the reason you can't find info on the 10 scout is that it was discontinued in 2004. it is essentially the same as the 10 "sierra". i have a "sierra" and love it. interestingly i set it up as a scout using the leupold scout scope. mine is in .308 and shoots very well.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!!
IF YOU'RE GONNA GET OLD,YOU BETTER BE TOUGH!! GETTIN' OLD AIN'T FOR SISSIES!!!
