Madison Mini Pontoon Boat?
« on: May 05, 2006, 04:22:25 PM »
Has anyone used one of these mini pontoon boats for fishing?
http://store.yahoo.com/hitches4less/ma7lapoboanb.html

I'd like to hear as much about them as possible. My plans are to use it for small pond fishing.

I don't want to get into a trailer or having to license a boat and I fish by myself, so this boat seems ideal. However, I'm open to suggestions.

Thank you, Bowhunter57

I have a creek company ODC 915, and its a great boat.  Perfect for lake fishing and rivers.  I got the larger one, because I run a lot of class 2-3 rivers.  They are very stable, and exremely manuverable, great to fish from.  I even take it out on the ocean every once in a while, not too far away from shore, but with a small motor, its a great trolling boat too.

If you have a sportsmans warehouse around where you live, they usually have a good seleciton to look through, so you can see what you like.

For lakes and ponds those smaller lighter ones are the ticket, because of portability, where stability isn't much of a problem.  Cabelas has quite a few you can look through also, that is where I bought mine, got a really good deal on it, on sale.
