Any thoughts on springfield 388 (savage)
« on: May 09, 2003, 08:49:47 AM »
I picked it up today marked springfield 388(savage). It looks kinda like a mi carbine but not really. 22 auto with a heavy 16" barrel pretty neat little gun. Could't beat the price. I can't seem to find any info on them good bad garbage.

thanks

OK found it after I checked the 88 at Numerich made 69 to 72 simular to the Model 60 Worth 75 bucks in excellent condition according to the books but I have found that at a gun shop guns on the lower end of the price scale still sell for more than what they are listed for. As long as it functions it should be a decent semi auto. Enjoy and congrats on your find. I like older guns I think they have more character. Jim

thanks,

Ya, like I said I couldn't beat the price, $85 out the door. Although I only paid a few dollars($50) more for my CZ 452-2e (with trigger job).

thanks,
