question on 50th anniv. grip frame
« on: April 13, 2006, 01:44:13 PM »
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the 50th anniversary 357 flatop
4 5/8 inch blackhawk has the lightweight grip frame, or a steel one...?
I can't seem to find it in the data at Ruger's web site.

Thanks

Jimster,
I just picked one up and I think they are steel.  I'll check later today and post what I find.

jimster,
Checked the 50th anniversary .357 Blackhawc and both the gripframe and the ejector rod are steel on mine and I believe that is they way they are all specified.  However; I once ordered a Ruger .22 auto target model that was suppose to have thumb rest target grips but came with plain black plastic.  The dealer wouldn't send it back and Ruger said it must have been a mistake, but wouldn't send me the target grips.  I mention this just because sometimes "variations" come out of the factory not quite as specified.  I don't know if it is from parts shortages, changes, accidents, or carlessness.  I do NOW make sure that if it isn't as advetised that the dealer won't stick me with it if he had to order it in.

blackwolfe, thanks for checking this for me.
I've been looking at these flat tops in pics...might go try to see if some dealers have some.

Thanks for your help
