I have a model 93 hornet its close to  the model 40, it has a hard wood stock and old trigger not the accu trigger. go to small bore rifles  (model 40) and read what I had to say about mine. If I had to do it again I would get a CZ.

I have one got it last week after waiting over a year. I shot 46 gr. winchester hollow points and some 33 gr speer TNT hollow points I loaded with 12.5 grs of Hodgdons H110' amazing accuracy from both loads. after sighting in, shooting from a good steady bench with a very heavy homemade rest I shot a 5 shot group that can be covered with a quater. The range was 100 yds. and the was a slight tailwind. after we shot for a while my friend who owns the land we shoot on, told me to shoot an oil bottle he left on a stump about 140 yds on the other side of the field. he said if you hit that bottle you can hit a varmit at that range. I said you shoot it, he did and hit the oil bottle almost dead center. An older fellow who comes out there pretty regular said he has never seen a 22 hornet shoot that good. I like it.

Good to hear!  I've been eyeing one of these Model 40's myself.  Always thought the .22 hornet was a nice cartridge.  Got a .32 levergun to get first, but then...
