What do you think
« on: June 02, 2006, 08:20:43 AM »
Picking up a Ultra Varmint model SB2-833 this afternoon for $175 wit scope mounts and wood stock.  Like new.

My thought is to see if H&R has and will fit the following additional barrels:
28 ga. shotgun
12 ga. vent rib with chokes shotgun
20 ga. Ultra slug barrel
Win .308 Bull Barrel
45-70 (32" Bufflo Classic) barrel

Work over the trigger when it came back.   I would be into the whole works (plus scopes of course) for just over $600.  Thats 6 barrels on action...

Figured this would give me a well rounded shotgun/rifle combo.  Then I could sell my BT99 Browning and few of my other rifles.

Any thoughts or suggestions???

Don The only thing, check letters in front of serial number.
Be sure is NN ot HN or larger 2 nd letter, to get extra barrels.
But I like more recievers for that many barrels, Just my 2 cents.

Well, if you include all fees including the cost to ship your rifle to them and its initial cost, that's about $740 total, plus sights or scope rail for the BC barrel, they charge $15 fitting and $10 shipping for each barrel.

I'm with Marv on this, if I had it to do all over again, I'd have a frame for every barrel, right now I have 18 frames and 30 barrels, but the duplicate barrels are being sold and the frames are becoming dedicated to a barrel, I like that idea better.

But ya gotta start somewhere!! 8)

Thanks..

Don, you'll see em on ebay this fall just before huntin season!! But keep an eye on the NEF Classifieds, they come an go regularly.

The S denotes a 2002 build year, so you're good to go for any barrel they have except the 10ga.
