griz;  I have an '05 Outland Max 400 HO.  It's the best thing since pockets on a shirt!  Great power(more than any other 400 and even some 500's), great handling, and best of all it rides like a Cadaliac!  The Max is the two person model which has an 8 inch longer wheelbase which allows the passenger to sit foward of the rear axle.  The passenger has their own seat and grip handles (you dont have to tell them that though, if you want 'em huggin' ya) and footrests.  The passenger sits slightly higher than the driver so they can have a good view of where they're going.  The four wheel drive is switchable and the rear axle is limited slip and the front has what is called visco-lok.  That applies however much drive to the front that is needed, even up to and including full lockup!  The engine braking is phenomenal and the brake arrangement is unusual but practical.  The only "knock" on the Outlander is that the brakes to some dont have any "feel".  I suppose I can agree with that, however, I have to use the brakes so rarely it doesn't matter to me.  The newest version is the 800 HO.  Now ya might need glue on your seat for that one.  If raw power is what you crave, it's the most powerful ATV on the market now.  Way more power than I need, even with my wife as a passenger.  It might be a lot of fun though, come to think of it................

Hope this helps, if you have more questions PM or email me.

:D  Thanks for the info!!  Iwas thinking about the Outlander 800 they are on sale around here now and winter is comming I have a lot of driveway to plow
and this might be better than the Skid steer I now use and I can use for other things(Hunting,Fun) But it might have to much SMOKE for an old guy.

Don't fear the SMOKE!  8)  I'm yet to hear any viable excuse against having too much power.  As far as plowing snow goes, the more power the better.  Had a little over 2 feet fall overnight 3 days before christmas last year then turned cold.  Was like plowing ice but was still easier and more fun with the 4wheeler and the Eagle plow than the skid steer.  Couldn't get the wife off the thing until after lunch some time!

Had a new Bomber dealer open here a couple weeks ago and they offered rides and demos on the 800.  Didn't attend myself but some folks from the local riding club did and all were impressed.

see posts all the time how a atv is better than a skid loader or a tractor with a loader or a pickup with a plow why don,t the people that plow for a living use them I been doing it for thirty years and I haven't seen one four wheeler cleaning a big parking lot yet or plowing the interstate either
