Yankee Clipper Modle 21
« on: June 08, 2006, 02:45:36 AM »
yesterday I was in a gun shop and the owner had taken in a very interesting double. It was a Winchester 21 that was engraved. the engraving said it was presented to Joe Dimagio. The gun had no checkering, and a very odd forend. This gun dealer is a top end type shop. Has anyone ever heard of a Joe D Modle 21?

Shotgunner Tried to find some info. on the mod21 but didn't have any luck. The odd looking forend is probably a Beavertail which was fairly popular with trap shooters in the years past. I would imagine the shotgun would go for around four grand now. I have not seen a presentation mod. in my short life of 72 years. Sorry i don't have more info. for you. Good luck with your search :D .........Joe...........

The forend was no beavertail. It was very narrow and had a shape almost like finger grooves in it. This gun has been modified but it looks like it was a very long time ago. Even with the problems it has I think this gun will go into 5 figures, if it was really owned by Joe D.
