Yep, kind of sounds like me when I first got my press and die set. Sounds like your hooked too? There is no reason why it should replace anything; cast bullets have their place too. But it sure is wonderful when you take some chucks of metal put it into a press and presto out pops a bullet and you didn’t even apply any heat or even break a sweat.
I have an M1 carbine too. I use the Speer’s Hollow Flat point called the “Varminter” and the Round Nose Soft point, both in 110-grain. The Varminters I use in my Ruger Blackhawk chambered in .30 M1 carbine and the Round Nose Soft point in my Ivor Johnson’s Universal .30 M1 carbine rifle. Both are devastating on coyotes. I had a box of the Speer’s Spire-SP in 110-grain but never was able to get a TC Contender barrel in .30 M1 carbine caliber, so I working up a load for my .30-06 for this bullet just to use them up.
Are you doing a spire point, tangent, secant, or a flat tip open point bullets or what?
Yes, we should all pray for our troops!! I see on the news that we have killed more of our own troops from so called “friendly fire” than the enemy has.
