need info on ranger double barrel shotgun

my wifes cousins little boy has the gun and wanted to find out info on it..
the only writing on the gun is     ranger 20 gauge  1953 ..
any info would be very much appreciated... thanks   jeff

It appears "Ranger" was a house-band made by 6-7 US manufactures.
    There has to be numbers,letters, etc some place on that 2-barrel.
    Find them and re-post, them somebody can tell you exactly who made
    it.  :D
