bought a polished stainless 3 in compact today and put 300 rounds through it using a hodgepodge of mixed ammo and it never missed a beat I dont think ive ever had another springfield that would have done it out of the box and the dammed things a 3 inch gun. Go figure!

Go figure!  Geez Lloyd, with all the trouble you have had with your 45s lately you would think a shorty like that would be made to give ya problems.  I'm glad you have finally found one that works for ya.  You said she shoots without a hitch, how does she hit???  Mikey.

Never know, do ya? About 3 yrs ago, I bought a Charles Daly SS Compact 1911 clone. It eats everything I feed it, and is reasonably accurate to boot! Not bad for a sub $300 gun.

seems to shoot real well. Its got one problem though everything shoots about 4 inches low and with night sights filing isnt an option. SO it will need to go back to springfield for a different sight.

Lloyd,
Had a simular experience with a "Champion". Only mine shot about 2' low at 20yds. Too bad they don't confirm POA/POI before shipping a new gun. I suspect the barrel lug engagement or the length of the link were the culprits in my gun. Sold it to a friend that really wanted it! He ended up with an outrageous rear sight on the thing. It now shoots pretty close to POA. Good luck with yours!
