How magazine finicky are the 7600's I have tried several 10rd steel and plastic magazines and none seem to work? The standard four round seems to work,  ok but the rifle needs to be cycled a lot to get every thing in sync.  Has anyone else had these problems as this is the first pump rifle I have owned? Always had bolt and leveraction rifles that weren't finicky at all and always cycled well.

Clip feed guns can give problems.  My 7600 in 308 can be very hard to load with the action closed, but if I open the action I have no problems.  It seems that the spring in my clip is very hard to depress and the first round hits the bolt and won't push down when inserted.  Other than this which is minor it functions fine.  Try opening the action and put the clip in with some authority. Mine is about a year old and is very accurate. Also try another clip if you have one.

I own 3 760's and have never had a problem! In fact the 1st 270 I bought was a R hand conversion to L hand and it will take 5 in the clip instead of the norm. 4, Never checked to find out why! Just use it as it is! Have since bought 2 with L HANDED  Monte Carlo Stocks and seldom use the original!!!!!!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Make your 1st shot count, the rest will only be to satisfy your EGO!!!!!!!!!!

I had problems with a 760 in .308 also.  Finally changed magazines and problems vanished.  I bought a new one from this company: www.gunpartscorp.com
