« on: October 26, 2005, 04:30:56 PM »
I am ordering a Glock 27 and want to have the green/orange Trijicon installed. Where can I get the best price and from what company??? How hard is it to mount the front and rear sights???  Thanks

I have installed both Trijicon and Meprolight sights on my two Glocks (a 27 and 17).  They both are excellent.  I think that I paid around $90.00-$100.00 for each pair.  I did have a gunsmith install them.  The glass containing the gas can be fragile, and if you hammer on the sight, they can break.  A Glock sight drift tool may be the best bet if you are doing this yourself.  Good Luck

I ordered Trijicon front and rear green dots for my Glock 31 and bought a Glock sight tool along with it from Glockmeister.  Decent prices, easy install (<15 minutes) for someone who isn't the most mechanically inclined - that's me.

One thing to remember about buying Trijicon Night Sights is to be sure the date of manufacture appears on both the front and rear sight. The Radioactive material used in Night Sights has a "half life" of about 10 to 12 years. That means in 10 years the sights will only be half as bright. This is especially important when buying a used handgun. However a lot of guys that install them remove the date from the sights with Acetone. You then don't know the age of the sights that your buying. I've heard the Glockmiester does this. Just something to make a mental note of.  Bill T.
