My awsome BEE gun!

I bought a new Savage smooth bore 22 rifle/shotgun a couple weeks ago.

This thing is a blast! I always figured a smooth bore 22 would be fun, but this thing is seriously a blast to play with. Starlings at 25-35 feet are pretty much history after taking several of these little pellets. A field mouse will literally roll after taking a direct hit at less than 20 feet. It shoots a decently round pattern tight enough for nearly any pest control needs within 10 yards.

I'm thinking seriously about taking it to a local smith, and seeing if he can roll a slight choke into the last couple inches of barrel. If I could stretch the ranges to around 40+ feet, I feel pretty sure it'd still have enough thump left to reliably anchor rats, or starlings at those ranges if multiple shot hits them.

I haven't tried it on BEE's but I'm quite certain it'll put me on a whole other level of performance. :-D

I've always liked the idea of small smoothbores. If I remember right, the scouts used them to shoot mini skeets with. That sounds like fun to me. Actually, since I'm seeing 9mm Flobert cartridges available, I'd love to get a garden gun for them, but I can't find any in the States. If you get the barrel choked, please let us know how it performs! :)
